As a part of YouTube ‘wellness and screen time tools’ released in 2018 in Google’s Digital, YouTube now launched a new tool that can send reminders to help users log off late at night. This new feature will be available on Android and iOS apps starting from last Wednesday, in addition to the existing “take a break” reminders feature. YouTube says, it had sent 3 billion take break reminders over the last two years.
All these new tools are launched amid the COVID-19 pandemic when more and more users spend most of their time staring at screens, and the company wanted to help users to use Google products responsibly.
The bedtime reminders will help YouTube users to set a start time and end time for their videos including the options to stop the video or continue till it is over. Users will also be able to snooze or dismiss bedtime reminders.
Although the new feature started rolling out on apps platforms, it may take a few days to reach out to everyone.
