Allow users to edit comments in WordPress
The first thing to do is installing and activating the Simple Comment Editing plugin.
After activation, the plugin will allow users to change their comments within the first 5 minutes.
After the first 5 minutes, users will not be able to edit their comments.
This time limit can change by going to Settings »Simple Notes Edit in the WordPress admin area.
On the settings page, admin can change the time in the text field to anything preferred. However, it is recommended to set the limit to less than 30 minutes because the purpose is to allow users to fix errors immediately.
After changing the time, click the “Save Options” button to store the changes. Next, leave a test comment on any post so that you can see the operation of the plugin.
After submitting a comment, you will find a “click to edit” link and a countdown timer below the comment text. A timer can be used to indicate when you edit a comment. To modify the comment, you need to click the “click to edit” link. This way you can make changes to the comment. However, you cannot change your name, email, or website URL. When finished, you need to click the “Save” button to update the note. If you want to delete a comment, you must click the “Delete” button.
