First, make 2 pages in WordPress Site needed for homepage and journal(blog) page.

It is not necessary to add anything on these pages, and even name other content as needed. For example, some commercial websites use “news” as their blog page. Once these pages are created, go to the “Settings” »” Reading “page in the WordPress management area.
