It is not surprising Instagram is continuing to build out features for Live and now the social media platform is offering a feature for people to raise money for nonprofits. This feature will allow Live viewers to directly support any approved organization. Live stream hosts can opt for the organization they want to support, and during their live show, they’ll be able to see how many people are supporting the cause and how much money has been contributed. All the contributions will go to the organizations; Instagram doesn’t take a share for the Instagram fundraising event.
Hosts can choose to make their live session a fundraiser from the start. They just have to select to turn it into a fundraiser instead of a live show. Unlike the donation stickers available for Stories, this new functionality brings the idea to the newly popular live streams and thus can raise money for nonprofits over Instagram Live.
