Probably you might have seen a sharp decline or uplift in the ranking of your websites in the Google search results and wondering what went wrong on May 5, 2020. As expected the new Google algorithm update namely ‘May 2020 Core Update’ has been rolled out on 4th May 2020.
Google’s Danny Sullivan has tweeted the confirmation on the core algorithm update which officially rolled out – May 4, 2020
This is Google’s second confirmed update of 2020 so far which supposed to produce widely noticeable effects across search results in all countries in all languages resulting drops or gains in search rankings invariably.
Changes in search rankings are generally a reflection of content relevancy for a specific query and if any content has gained relevancy since the last update it will be moved higher up in the SERP.
May 2020 Core Update: What to do for better ranking?
As always Google has said there’s nothing to “fix” if rankings drop after a core update and site owners are routinely advised to their content relevancy in order to regain any dropped ranking in SERP.
