Google will be displaying the merchant shopping ads free in the main search results soon. It has already made it free for the shopping tab in some regions.
Google considers the new change as ”crucial” to connect the customers with the best merchants due to the ongoing changes in the online shopping trend.
As Google says they wanted to make the right product or the best seller easily available to people without any daunting work when they shop online. The search giant review that the Shopping tab has been beneficial for merchants thus far.
Users will be able to scroll down the knowledge panel to view more stores and more merchants will get the opportunity to have their ads served.
Although Google did not specify the exact date of release, it is expected to be running free starting this summer.
Free Shopping ads listings will first be displayed on mobile, followed by desktop at a later date. This change affects US search results only. The impact of free Shopping ads will be huge, according to Google, which should help generate billions of dollars in annual sales.
