Google Adds Business Messaging to Mobile Websites
Google is now adding Business Messages option in Search and Maps and so businesses can receive messages by integrating it with their customer service platforms.
Google has ended the Business messaging feature from Google My Business in 2017, and then expanded to Google Maps in 2018.
As per Google, Business messaging is widely used by many businesses and the usage is now two times that of the last year.
Google is trying to experiment with the business messaging in search results as an increasing number of businesses started to connect with customers via Business Messages. Businesses will be able to add Business Messages options to mobile websites enabling them to quickly “Message” right from their site.
Google will be deploying this new messaging feature on Android, including apps and during calls in the next coming months. Though the Business Messages are currently available in English, it is expected to be expanded to other languages launching soon.
Business Messages Are Optional for Businesses and The Feature is Turned Off by Default
It is not mandatory for all Google My Business customers to turn the Business Messages feature on and is optional for all. Therefore any business that is not interested in receiving messages, can easily keep it off from the Google My Business dashboard.
Google Business Messages offer stats for businesses to view the number of clicks on the message button, the number of conversations, and total messages.
For existing customers who are utilizing Business Messages, these new dashboards and added features just new options to enable them to communicate better with their customers.
